Research Supervision: My bio / statement is as follows –

I currently works for Health New Zealand, Te Whatu Ora | Te Toka Tumai Auckland. I also provide supervision for students on doctoral training progammes for Counselling Psychologists and Psychotherapists. I completed a PhD with the Open University and my DCPsych with the New School of Psychotherapy and Counselling. I am retired from a career in NHS Community Mental Health Service. I worked in these services for thirty years, managing community teams for twenty years. I worked as a counsellor at diploma level for several years and took on roles in the voluntary sector. Research interests have ranged from ‘social inclusion,’ to ‘decision-making in mental healthcare’ and more recently ‘resilience’ and ‘cross-cultural’ studies. I have published articles and book chapters on; psychological growth after trauma, on the design and implementation of secondary mental health services; managing mental health conditions such as bi-polar and psychosis. I have also published on homelessness, the use of a hermeneutic phenomenological research methodologies, and the application of different philosophies in therapeutic practice.

I am providing supervision to students through the New School of Psychotherapy and Counselling. However, take on supervision for students in other universities, where there is a shared interest.
